Main sections of the website
What's On · Events in the Region
This section gives information about Regional Yoga events, both promoted by the Region and by individual members. You may view the events listed either by county or in chronological order.
Information about each event
The initial listing gives brief details of each event. Clicking the blue more information link displays more detailed information and may include brief biographical information about the tutor.
Booking form
Within the additional information box, a booking form link opens a second window with a booking form for the event. Complete the form online, and then print it out to mail to the organiser whose contact details will be printed on the form.
Location map & driving directions
You may view a Google map of the event location by selecting the venue from the drop down list at the top of the main listing. If you type your postcode into the input box, you will also get driving directions from your home to the event.
News and Information
The News & information page should soon become the main source of up-to-date yoga news and information in the Region, so you should visit it regularly! Important items of information about events in the Region, reports about recent activities and committee meetings, changes to BWY policy etc will be posted on this page which will be updated frequently.
Yoga classes in the Region
The Yoga classes section is the main source for information about yoga classes in the Southern Region. Classes listed here are registered on the website by BWY teachers, and are listed by county, postcode and class type. You may refine your search by restricting it to a particular county, or type of class.
Location map
You may view a Google map of each location, listed by county, in a new window. The Google page also allows you to obtain driving directions from your home to the class venue.
Finding a Yoga teacher
The Finding a Yoga teacher infobox on the left of the page opens a page on the national BWY website listing BWY-qualified teachers in the Southern Region who have asked for their details to be displayed. (Information displayed on this page is maintained and updated by the BWY national website, and is not the responsibility of BWY Southern Region.) Not all Southern Region teachers are listed on the national website: this site's listing of Yoga classes is probably a better source of current information.
How to register a class for online display
BWY-qualified teachers may register their classes for display on the website by uploading the information via the Yoga classes registration page. You need to input your current BWY membership number, as shown on your membership card, to gain access to the system. Once you have uploaded a class—and it has been approved by the Web Administrator—you will be able to update your details by clicking the 'Edit a class' button which will be visible in the top right corner of the page.
How to register as a Locum Teacher
BWY-qualified teachers who are willing to stand in for other teachers who, through illness or for other reasons, are unable to teach their classes, should register their names for display on the Locum Teachers page by submitting their details and availablity via the Locum Teacher Registration page. The procedure is identical to that for registering a yoga class, with the exception that the Locum Teacher listing is not editable. Amendments to the listing should be sent to the webmaster.
BWY Training
The main BWY Training Courses page gives an overview of BWY-run training opportunities in the Southern Region. Links on the left of the page lead to additional pages of more detailed information and listings of training programmes.
Teaching Practice Observation Tutors and
Final Course Assessors
A list of TPOTs and FCAs is given on the TPOTs & FCAs page, with contact information and a brief note of the areas covered. BWY-qualified tutors are encouraged to join this listing by submitting information via the TPOT/FCA registration page. The registration procedure is similar to that for yoga classes: a current BWY membership number is required before tutors can upload their details.
